Merchant Information (Collected Directly from you)
This is information we collect when you sign up for and use Litespeed Payments services:
- Identification and Contact Data: Name, business name, address, email address, phone number, and tax identification number (EIN/SSN).
- Financial and Account Data: Bank account numbers, routing numbers, transactional history, and information required for underwriting and compliance.
- Technical Data: IP address, device information, and geolocation data related to your use of our service and terminals.
Cardholder/Transaction Information (Collected on behalf of our Merchants)
This is the data we process when a transaction occurs at a Merchant’s location or online store:
- Payment Card Details: Primary Account Number (PAN), card expiration date, cardholder name, and transaction amount. Note: We do not store the full magnetic strip, CVV/CVC, or PIN data.
- Transaction Details: Date, time, type of transaction, location/terminal ID, and description of goods/services purchased.
How We Use the Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:

| Communication | To send you service-related communications, security alerts, updates to our policies, and, where permitted, marketing materials. |
Disclosure and Sharing of Information
We will not sell or rent any Personal Information to third parties for marketing purposes. We share information only in the following necessary circumstances:
- Payment Networks & Banks: We share transaction data with the card-issuing banks, acquiring banks, and payment networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) to successfully process and settle payments.
- Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party vendors and partners to perform functions on our behalf, such as customer support, system hosting, data analysis, and regulatory compliance. These parties are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Affiliates: We may share data with companies under common ownership or control with Lightspeed Payments for internal administrative purposes and to provide you with integrated services.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, in response to a subpoena or court order, or if we believe such action is necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our Merchants or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
Security Measures and PCI Compliance
We take the security of data seriously. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect and process.
- PCI DSS: Litespeed Payments adheres to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and maintains the highest level of certification (Level 1 Service Provider) to ensure the secure handling of Cardholder data.
- Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption, including Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS), to protect data during transmission.
- Data Minimization: We only retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy and as required by legal and regulatory obligations.
Your Data Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the Personal Information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information.
- Deletion (Right to Erasure): Request that we delete your Personal Information, subject to our legal and regulatory requirements to retain certain records.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Opt-out of receiving promotional or marketing emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails.
Note for Cardholders: If you are a customer of a Merchant using Litespeed Payments, your data rights should be directed to the Merchant, as they are the party that collected your information.
